SMALL BUT SWEET HOME LIVING

The idea is to create small budget home interior decoration within a small house. I decided to create furniture which is inexpensive to create. Thus I applied wood-working looks alike furniture using plywood layered by High Laminated Pressure (HPL). I chose two prominent HPL with Walnut textures.

Problem
The Indonesian style of home-living interior, conventionally, is that there are two living rooms available. First one is as a lounge for hosting guests. The second one  is as common room for family. Thus actually if you say Living Room, that refers to a lounge for Guests.
According to the culture I've elaborated early, It was no chance to create two living rooms. Thus I design a common room suitable for guests and family. That is why the title of this project named: Small And Sweet Home Living.

Layout
My Client is a Head Police Officer of Traffic Department. His office is getting located in a big space but separated from the stuff area. According to the discussion with my Client, we have decided the location of his room. Later on, this decision would have changed into another location. You will get it easily when read The Budget & Altered Design. So here is the layout of the room.

As you can see on illustration above, the room is divided into two areas: Lounge and Work Desk Area.

Concept
I decided to make it semi-classic. Thus, I designed the Work Desk Area a little bit classic. What came up on my mind about classic was ornament. I thought that's the easiest way to reach the Classic outlook.

The good thing (or bad one?) about Interior Design is that the result might be different with the design. It depends on various things. In this case, the material is the prominent cause. The wallpaper I applied into design was getting run out. Thus I had to choose another pattern to apply. Wood textures were not same as the design illustration either. However, the concept is still same. The bright and darker wood texture applied on the desk is in accordance with the visual illustration. Here is the Photo taken:

Budget Problem & Altered Design
Initially I offered a design which was too expensive for the Client to make it real. I designed the lounge with big size of TV Panel in Lounge Area.

And for the Working Area, I created a desk with a big storage behind. You can see on an illustration below.

As my client got worried about the budget, I altered the design in accordance with his budget. Thus I made a bit tweak by reducing the size and choosing another material behind the desk. I chose gypsum board in order to create the wall panel behind the desk instead of a cupboard.

As you can see on illustration above, there is a door besides the TV Panel. The door "appears" as I changed the placement of the room (as I said in first paragraph, isn't it?), still in same size though.
